A newsletter is an email sent on a recurring basis to a list of subscribers. It may contain in-depth editorial content and news, as well as, although more rarely, also offers and promotions.
Sending newsletters is one of the pivotal activities of email marketing and for, a long time it has been associated with the mass sending of content and products without any implementation of profiling and contact segmentation strategies.
When referring to the concept of “newsletter” it is often usual to also refer to the concept of “DEM.” Unlike the latter, which responds mainly to a commercial purpose, the newsletter has, for the most part, an informative nature and therefore contains mostly content of a textual nature (e.g.: in-depth analysis of topics, blog posts..).
Precisely because of its informative nature and its ability to show itself an effective tool for strengthening the relationship between company and user, the newsletter has a periodicity that must be maintained and respected.
However, it is important to remember that the periodicity should always be established both based on the nature of the content being sent and the response we get from our contact database in terms of opens and clicks. It is important to maintain interest in the news and insights offered, so sending too close together can often prove counterproductive.
